The Parent Series - Part.1

I have no children, but I have nephews and am allowed to punish them to a certain point. Beyond that is their parent's job.

I want to know why the freedom to spank your child for doing something wrong got taken away from parents?

I want to know why when a woman said "no" to the girl and the girl threw a fit, she was told that she couldn't adopt the child because letting her throw the fit and not giving her what she wanted was abuse.

ABUSE!?! SAYING NO IS ABUSE!?!

Hell, if that's abuse then I was terribly abused and my parents should be locked away.

I understand that there are people who's parents took it too far and did use spanking as a form of abuse. However, there is a noticeable difference between punishment and abuse.

I shouldn't get in trouble for having a child that won't listen any other way.

Put away those that abuse their children and let those who are merely punish for the sake of teaching, do so.
